Our 50th Anniversary Celebration was a huge success, thanks to everyone who organized, participated and attended. We had past staff, chairpersons, and council members attending alongside current staff and council, making for a diverse, intergenerational crowd of women dedicated to furthering gender equality.

We had the help of volunteers Bella and Yuan in translating our timeline spreadsheet to its glorious, bedazzled physical form, so people could participate in our timeline workshop. We also had volunteers Marissa and Zuri help with event set up and clean up. Many thanks to all of these wonderful young volunteers!

During the event there were 8 retrospective slideshows on display that sampled photos from the 50 year span of activity of the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women. Additionally there is a slideshow that includes all of our Annual Report covers, with descriptions of the art by local artists. To view the slideshows click here

The day was also bittersweet as we bid farewell to our Executive Director, Jane Ledwell. We will miss her dearly, but we know she will do great things on her next adventures as Executive Director at CreativePEI.
