The PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women coordinates annual projects and events that encourage gender equality:
- March 8 – International Women’s Day to celebrate women’s achievements, provide educational programming and promote community participation through activities such as dance, and promote gender equality.
- November – Purple Ribbon Pinning Bee to prepare ribbons for the Purple Ribbon Campaign Against Violence Against Women. Volunteers cut ribbons, pin them to information cards, and distribute them to schools, individuals, and organizations across the Island. Purple ribbons are worn to honour, remember, and call for justice for victims of violence.
- December 6 – Montreal Massacre Memorial Service to honour the 14 women murdered at L’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989, and victims of violence against women in PEI, across Canada, and around the world.
- Other such as Women’s History Month events, Women & Justice Symposium, Study Groups, and more.
