Our Council meeting on Friday March 20th, 2026 was an emotional day, as it was our last with Becky and Garima. And we also said farewell to Jenny MacDougall during this meeting.
In mid April, Becky Tramley will be retiring after 40 years serving in office management and administrative support! A huge transition for her and for the Status of Women in PEI. We will surely miss her experience, her knowledge, her loyalty and her commitment.
Garima Mishra served as a Council member for 5 years, most recently taking a leadership role as Vice-Chairperson and member of the Executive. Garima became a Mom during her years with us, and we enjoyed her having her daughter Eliana at some of our meetings. Garima’s enthusiasm, breadth of analysis, and joyful presence will be sorely missed.
We also missed the warm and loving presence of Council member Jenny MacDougall of Tignish. Jenny resigned her position recently, due to her many caregiving responsibilities. We are sad she is no longer able to participate on Council, as she brought such authentic presence and deep knowledge of rural PEI and the essential caregiving needs that women provide.
