Unity in Community ~ The Rural Municipality of Crapaud has committed to ending gender-based violence in their South Shore community. Since the Spring of 2025, the Mayor and CAO have been working with the Advisory Council on the Status of Women to learn about GBV and to hear from leaders in the community about the strengths that exist, the challenges, and what actions might have a positive impact on ending violence. Together the municipality and ACSW staff have listened to their community and developed a Community Action Plan to Prevent Gender-Based Violence.

New Date:  On Tuesday, October 28th, 2025 at 3:00pm, the public is invited to attend the launch of the action plan. There will be remarks from Mayor Jo-Anne Harvey, ACSW Chairperson Hsiao-Yu Liu, invited guests, and members of the Rural Municipality. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to join and learn about the leadership role the Rural Municipality of Crapaud is taking to address and prevent violence.
